Diagnosing Tumors

If your child has a bone tumor, we understand that not knowing if it’s benign or malignant is very stressful – which is why we offer same-day appointments to make a diagnosis as quickly as possible. After we determine the type of tumor, we’ll begin treatment and support your child and family every step of the way.

Ewing's Sarcoma

Ewing’s sarcoma is the second most common type of bone cancer in children and adolescents. At Children’s Colorado, an entire team of specialists comes together to treat Ewing’s sarcoma with chemotherapy, surgery and/or radiation therapy.

Osteosarcoma

Osteosarcoma is the most common type of pediatric bone cancer, usually occurring in school-age children at a time when the bones are growing rapidly. If your child is diagnosed with osteosarcoma, our orthopedic oncology experts will create a customized treatment plan that may include a combination of chemotherapy and surgery.
